Changes Made to 2009 Race Registration Process:

Online Registration for the AJC Peachtree Road Race Opens

 Sunday, March 15, 2009 at 7 a.m. ET

That's right...this year you'll be able to register for the AJC Peachtree Road Race from your computer.  Registration for the Peachtree will open at 7 a.m. ET on Sunday, March 15 at www.ajc.com/peachtree.  The first 45,000 out of 55,000 total entries will be accepted through online registration.  On the morning of March 15, just follow the steps below to register online for the big event:

1.  Go to www.ajc.com/peachtree.

2.  Click "Register Now".

3.  Fill out the online registration form.

4.  Click "Submit"

5.  Print a copy of your race confirmation.

If you're not one of the first 45,000 entries online, or if you would rather mail in your registration form, a paper application will run in the AJC on Sunday, March 22.  The event's remaining 10,000 slots will be randomly selected from all paper applications received by mail and postmarked by March 31, 2009.  Click here for more information on registration for the 40th running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race.  Read more.

Electronic Timing Added for All AJC Peachtree Road Race Participants

For the first time, all 55,000 AJC Peachtree Road Race participants will be electronically timed in the 2009 event.  When race number packets are mailed in the middle of June, all registered Peachtree participants will also receive a ChronoTrack D-Tag timing device in their race packets.  The light-weight, one-time-use D-Tag attaches to runners' shoes and is activated when they cross the start line.  The ChronoTrack D-Tag system was recently used at the Atlanta Track Club's other signature event, the Atlanta Marathon and Half Marathon, this past Thanksgiving and was well-received by event participants and race volunteers.  Read more.

The AJC Peachtree Road Race Finish is Back on 10th Street

After a year away, the AJC Peachtree Road Race finish is back on 10th Street near Piedmont Park just in time for the 40th running of the nation's largest road race.  While the finish of the AJC Peachtree Road Race will be back near the park, there will be a few changes to some of the finish area elements from past years.  Elements such as the awards stage and sponsor tents will be relocated to the Park Tavern property while other elements will move to the park's hardscape.  The coveted Peachtree t-shirts along with water will once again be distributed in the meadow at Piedmont Park.  Read more.
